How to Enjoy Your Mountain Lights Candle to the Fullest
Our candles are hand-poured with care, and we want you to love every moment of their glow. A few simple steps will help you enjoy a clean, long-lasting burn and the cozy atmosphere you’re looking for.
Burn with Care
- Always burn your candle within sight.
- Place it on a heat-resistant surface, away from drafts and anything that could catch fire.
- Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Trim Your Wick
- Trim the wick to about ¼” before your first burn and each time you relight.
- A trimmed wick ensures an even burn and keeps the flame steady.
Your First Burn Matters
- Soy wax has a “memory” — the first burn sets the path for future burns.
- Allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges of the jar to prevent tunneling.
- Burn for about one hour per inch of the candle’s diameter (for example, 3 inches = 3 hours).
- Avoid burning longer than 4 hours at a time.
Let the Wax Pool
- For the best fragrance throw, let the top layer of wax melt completely into a pool of liquid wax.
- This helps release the full scent and maximizes burn time.
Know When It’s Time
- When only about ½” of wax remains, it’s time to retire your candle.
